Lesson Plan Content:
It is/ They are + my/ your/ his/ her drawing game
Present Simple of be and possessive adjectives practice
Instructions for teachers
Cut up one pack of cards per class or group of three to six students, and take out any words which are too difficult or you don’t want to practise (e.g. the adjective cards).
One student makes a sentence out of the cards like “They are my feet” and draws just what they said on the board or some paper (not connected to any other drawings at this stage). Someone else in class then copies that drawing onto a picture of the person who made the sentence (if the sentence says “my”), a picture of the person who copies it (if the sentence says “your”), a picture of a boy (if the sentence says “his”) or a picture of a girl (if the sentence says “her”).
The game is also possible with students choosing words from the worksheet, but is easier and more fun with cut-up cards. The colours on the cards are optional, and a black and white copy might be more suitable to add more challenge.
