Instructions for teachers

Ask students to find the colour words in the wordsearch and do one of these three things:

• Circle the colour words in the correct colour
• Colour in the boxes of each letter of the colour words in the correct colour
• Colour in the letters of the colour words in the correct colour

If they get stuck, they can use a colour copy of the flashcards to help them.

To make it more interactive, you can do one or both of these activities:

• Ask students to find each colour word in the wordsearch as you point at something that colour in the classroom or hold up that colour flashcard
• Hold up the word of one of the colours and ask students to shout out the colour word then find that word in the wordsearch (perhaps taking away the colour word if it would be too easy with the colour word still up)

Students can then make similar wordsearches for other students with the blank format on the last page below.
