Xmas things with can and can’t games
A LESSON PLAN FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS
Can you for abilities questions on Christmas vocabulary, including testing each other on actions, noises, spelling and pronunciation
Lesson Plan Content:
Xmas things with can and can’t games
Choose one of the Xmas question cards and ask your partner if they can do that.
OR
Make a question about Xmas from the table and ask your partner if they can do that.
OR
Use one of the verb cards to make as many “Can you…?” questions about Xmas for each other as you can, checking if you can do each thing, then change cards.
The scoring is:
- One point for saying “No, I can’t”
- Two points for saying “Yes, I can” and then doing it successfully
- No points for saying “Yes, I can” but then not doing it successfully
Your teacher will tell you if you both get those points, or if only the person who answered the question gets the points.
When your teacher stops that game, ask about any vocabulary which you can’t understand.
Play a different game from the list above. Your teacher will tell you if the scoring rules have changed or not.
