Part One – Prepositions in Use of English Part One open cloze

Your teacher will read out one of the prepositions from gaps in real FCE Use of English Part Two papers below. Work together to brainstorm as many (full) example sentences with that word as you can, avoiding words that you have already used in previous example sentences. You get three points per sentence, but lose one of those points per repeated word. Your teacher may restrict what parts of speech are allowed, e.g. not allowing “like” as a verb.

When your teacher stops you, your example sentences will be passed to another group to check. They can challenge your sentences if they think an example sentence is wrong, but they will lose three points if their challenge is wrong.
