Prepositions of position things in common

Work in groups of three or more. Choose just one person from your group and try to find something that you both have in the same position by using questions like those below. If you find something in common, you can say “So is mine”/ “So are mine”/ “Mine too”. The other people in your group will give you from one point, two points or three points depending on how detailed and surprising your thing in common is. For example, you might get only one point for both of your sofas being in the living room, but three points for both of your mothers being in New York. You get no points if the second person says “I don’t have one”, “I don’t have any”, “I don’t know”, etc or if the person who asked the question has to respond to the answer with “Really? Mine…”, etc.

  • different = 0 points
  • the same but not surprising = 1 point
  • the same and a little surprising = 2 points
  • the same and very surprising = 3 points
