Choose which set of cards below you are going to use. They are in approximate order of difficulty. Make colour photocopies and cut up one set per class or group. Don’t cut between the two columns, so that you only make only one card per row below. Put the cards in the same order where students can see them, e.g. on a table between them or sellotaped on the board. Test students on what colour each number is and/ or which number is in each colour as you lay them out. Then fold the cards so that students can only see one half of the card and ask questions like “What colour is number eight?” and “What number is blue?” You can also mix the numbers up and ask students to put them back in order, giving them colour hints if they get stuck. Then do all the same games with a more difficult pack of cards.
