Because in europe english is mostly replaced by a Romance language like french, closer to latin in latin america

the english and italian are very similar. But the english and german are two completery different language and do not resemble
The english is the size of 74% from latin word italian ,spanish ,portuguese french and romanian, and thus little resemblace to the germanic language, so the english is more like the latin language, especially italian and spanish. Said my opinion, the english and german do not resemble
I think English resembles French more than any other language, because of its great French influence. Even though English is a Germanic language. Spanish should be on the list, too.
