I'm surprised to see a comma in the middle of your statement, kimmikoto, and no full stop (period) at the end.
Anyway, what's wrong with it? Ambiguous, yes, but it could be referring to a sweater, for example, in which case it's just fine.
You couldn't just say, "I took it off him," although many do. It might possibly be better to change it to, "I took it from him," but without any context it's impossible to know.
Who writes these polls?
What does that mean? The statement..."I took it off of him." ?
