When I was eating the doorbell rang/While I was eating the doorbell rang.
Are both sentences correct? Or is one more grammatical than the other? Any nuance? The sentences are mine.

1. When I was eating, the doorbell rang.
2.
While I was eating, the doorbell rang.

Are both sentences correct? Or Is one more grammatical than the other? Is there any nuance I can't see? The sentences are mine.
Note my changes above. Whenever you give us more than one sentence to look at, please present them as a numbered list. It makes it much easier for us to refer to them in our responses.

They're both grammatical but most native speakers would use #2 to stress the fact that the two things happened simultaneously.
