If a person or people think about something a lot, can I say it "occupies their psyche"? Are these correct and natural?

1. Jane occupied his psyche, not allowing him to focus on work. She was smart and imaginative and he couldn't stop thinking about her.
2. Social media has occupied the psyche of adolescents in society.
3. A big part of her psyche is occupied by a love of poetry and literature.
4. The refugee crisis has occupied the psyche of German society.

How about "He was obsessed with Jane"?
