Hello,

I'd like to know whether the idioms "add insult to injury" and "rub salt in the wound" are still used. Is there any other way to say the same in a figurative manner?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

They're both in use in BrE.

They don't sound dated to me.

They're still commonly used in AmE as well.

In a similar vein, there's "kick someone while they're down".
