Would you mind telling me/to tell me

I've always known that only the -ing form can be used after "mind". But in the results of an online test they qualified this use as a mistake. Which sentence is correct:
1) Would you mind telling me where you come from.
2) Would you mind to tell me where you come from.

Number 1) (telling) is correct.

I am not a teacher.

It's definitely 1).

Was this an online test conducted by non-native speakers?
