I'm unsure if I should use on or for in the following sentence:

- The meeting is scheduled on/for Tuesday morning at 10am.

I went for 'for' but was told that if there is a specific timing, it should be 'on'. When do we use 'on' and 'for'.

Thank you!

I would accept either one.

I would use "for" if you're talking about a Tuesday morning meeting that has already been arranged. For me, "The meeting is scheduled on Tuesday morning" suggests that on Tuesday morning, someone schedules a meeting for later on in the week.

To me, the meeting is scheduled for Tuesday. It was probably scheduled on some day prior to this. If they scheduled it on the same day they were scheduling it for, there wouldn't be much notice. (AusE)
