If "work night" is the night before a working day, what about "tonight is a working night"?
Does "working night" mean "the night when you have to work"?

Many of my friends refer to Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings as "a school night", meaning they have to get up for work the next day.

That was my parents when I was of school age (long ago). Except it was a school night for me.

We still use it despite us all being way over school age and none of us having kids.
