a lot of not common in negative sentences

'I don't have much time' is natural English, but 'I have much time', though grammatically correct, sounds strange- we tend to use 'a lot of' in the positive. ;-)
aw right so you say i dont have much time for him
but i have a lot of time for you
? :)

As I am a new member here and non a native speaker, I would like to know that just to makre sure using much with negative and a lot of or it does not matter at all !!
Because it is really confused me !! :)

thanks a lot.

iFrankliin, you can use much or a lot of with a negative. ;-)

Sorry, don't understand the question?but in my view a lot is it's answer.

Both can be used with uncountable nouns so both of them are correct in my opinion
