What's the difference if I say rapid progress in this sentence?

Although the meanings of "progress" and "progression" do overlap, the former has a stronger sense of development/improvement, whereas the latter can just mean moving on to the next stage(s) of some process.

Note my changes above. I'm not sure I'd describe a website as "retired" but I get the gist.
