I want to express the idea that a movie is the best I've seen or a book is the best I've read.

Is it natural to say "jewel in the crown"?

I've seen many movies and Shutter Island is the jewel in the crown.

I've read many books and their jewel in the crown was Shining.

Is there another idiom I can use that is more natural?
