I am wondering which one of the following sentences is more proper?


1. "One of the most valuable lessons I have learned during my time in London is that..."
2. "One of the most valuable lessons I had learned during my time in London is that..."
3. "One of the most valuable lessons I learned during my time in London is that..."


Or should it be "...during my time in London was that..."?

You use 1. if you're still in London.
Use 3. if you've left London.
There's nothing in the context given that suggests the need for the past perfect.
