If you 'take to' something, you find that you can do it easily and enjoy it.

Just because someone has to be an annoying contrarian;

She never liked the fixing Mr.Big's software projects... she plotted for years how she could make sure one of his projects would fail, would crash... so one day she snuck into the computer lab, took down the job and loved every minute of it, laughing diabolically as the job came crashing down...

Okay, lame, I know... and

She knew that she was a much better project manager than that Mercer creep... so when she saw he was about to be assigned the job of becoming king of the hill, she lobbied the boss hard and got the job handed to her, instead.. she took the job away and loved every minute of it...

To "take to" something, in itself, means "to like." The sentence is therefore somewhat redundant. How about something like "She took to the job like a fish takes to water."
"Take up" is used with a specific task or activity. She could take up the act of sewing, but not the job of seamstress.

Down makes She took down the job and enjoyed it.

To makes She took to the job and enjoyed it.

Away makes She took away the job and enjoyed it.
