Well, this one was easy.

Yes, definitely easy.

Can we say that this is just the same as "to eke out a living" ?

Thanks for replies in advance!

I thought you were right, but I confirmed it too. It's "barely managing", also "making something last by being frugal".

Thanks for the answer.

Could you please also confirm that "to get by" is along the same lines with the poll idiom and "to eke out" ?

Sorry, yes that's what I meant when I wrote you were right. I specifically looked it up to be sure.
These were the meaning in the dictionary: "barely managing", "making something last by being frugal".
I hope that helps.

This is similar to making a living hand to mouth.

second is the correct one.

Now students can select Correct answer: It simply means : to have just enough money to live or to continue a business With extra income from private sponsorship, the club is just about managing to keep its head above water.

I'm not sure that the proffered choice is the best. To keep one's head above water is to survive, but barely.

It was simple to guess. I was right

Ya like barely survive.

There is an important difference.

Ekeing out a living means surviving, but barely, in the long term.

Keeping one's head above water, on the other hand, means surviving, but barely, in the short term.
