Hi, everyone, i will appreciate your review and critics on my motivation letter for the Erasmus Mundus joint master's program in BDMA. Thanks

I am writing to express my interest and motivation to apply for the Erasmus Mundus Masters Scholarship in Big Data Management and Analytics Program for September 2023.
Since my inception in school, I have always had a passion for technological and scientific knowledge, a burning desire to succeed and with strong motives to become a knowledgeable individual. I want to bring changes to my life and also transform the lives of many positively. A career related to technology has always been my vision.
For this reason, I capitalized on the opportunity given to me and studied Computer Science and Mathematics at the Bachelors level. I have a strong understanding of my area of study during my bachelor’s degree program. I was exposed to a full range of information technology courses, all of which tended to reinforce and solidify computing interest which is the heart of current technology. After the undergraduate program, I developed interest in the data science field and immediately pursued a master’s degree in big data analytics and smart systems. This research master’s served as an eye open to me in the world of big data and artificial intelligence.
Having taken classes in data mining, text mining, machine learning, object-oriented programming in python, graph theory, data warehousing, operational research amongst others, I began to nurse a desire to further hone my skills in the field of data management and analytics. Furthermore, my graduate thesis, titled “A Personalized Meal Recommendation System for Cancer Patients based on Ingredients", was in the field of machine learning. It was my first research work and it helped enrich my knowledge as I had to review several publications before deciding on the algorithm to adopt. This thesis helped me understand what research entailed and how to write research papers.
Alongside my academic study, I took part in leadership and community development activities, and I received several awards for my contributions, both from my colleagues and from my lecturers. I was also awarded a Certificate of Commendation from the xxx student board where I served as the Adviser of the Student Group.
After completing my graduate studies, I started working as an Associate Data Analyst with xxx, a renowned software solutions firm specializing in data analytics and software development in the Gambia. In my current role, I work mostly on data cleansing, management, interpretation and analysis for the business using Excel, Power BI, Metabase, Python, and Stata and with a solid background in SQL and programming, I can quickly understand, write DAX equations and formulas to solve data related problems where necessary. This role provides me with the opportunity to explore, interact with BI tools and techniques and to learn about business strategies, data exploration, value creation for better business decisions and evaluation.
Beyond the basics of business intelligence, I see myself creating ETL and using advanced big-data-related tools like Spark and Hadoop to solve advanced data-related problems and add value to the world of IT. The BDMA curriculum not only provides me an opportunity to learn from the best hands, but it also prepares and positions me for a career in my desired area.
I have a strong interest in the master’s program with specialization in Statistic and Deep Learning for data analytics. While browsing through the BDMA course content, I have grown to admire the wide range of courses it offers to make one a specialist in this field. The fact that I will learn how to conduct analysis of data that originate from different contexts, ranging from human and economic data, till biological data, and will acquire the knowledge of these domains to be able to interpret the results have piqued my interest. I believe that my strong data analytics background, programming skills, statistics and mathematical background provide me with a solid knowledge base as well as the necessary skillset and learning capacity to be the best fit and an excellent candidate to your graduate program.
In addition, the BDMA program offers a broad spectrum of course flavored with international perspectives by studying in several countries. This program provides an inside-out knowledge of big data and business intelligence aspects and it will give me the chance to network with its diverse group of people it accommodates and who also share my mindset. I will be surrounded and guided by leading thinkers in the data field. This experience will help my future because through it I will seek another opportunity to follow my passion for science, technology, and engineering.
I want to set up a technology institution that focuses on big data and artificial intelligence in my country upon completing my degree. I hope to impart the skills and the knowledge I will acquire from the program to impact the education, human capital, healthcare and finance sectors of the Gambia, which I believe are catalyst for economic growth. It has always been my dream to establish a technology institute in The Gambia. In my country the literacy rate is significantly low and many people have little or no knowledge of information technology. It has brought so many problems in my country and the problems continue to persist. I feel that one of the best ways to reward my people and help them is to be an inspiration to all. I hope to work towards achieving these dreams after I graduated. I will keep working hard to ensure the realization of my dreams. The degree and the knowledge I hope to achieve will enable me to collaborate with other intellectuals and work towards solving the variety of issues and challenges different countries face in the AI and data-fueled technological sector in Africa.
