Prepositions of position with there is/ are speaking game in which students try to get positive answers to personal questions with this grammar, with both basic and more difficult prepositions of location, and controlled and freer speaking.
Lesson Plan Content:
There is/ There are with Prepositions- Make Me Say Yes Game
Ask an “Are there any… your…?” or “Is there a… (your…)?” question. If the answer is
“Yes, there…” you will get a point, but if the answer is “No, there…” you won’t.
Continue with the same questions about the places below.
behind your house
between your house and your neighbour’s house
between your house and your school
in a box in your house
in front of your school
in the living room
in your bag
in your bathroom
in your bedroom
in your bedroom closet

Do the same, but this time continuing to ask about one place above until you get a “No,
there…” answer.
Do the same, but this time only getting one point if you get “Yes” answers to both an “Is/
are there…?” question and a “Do you like…?” question on the same topic, e.g. “Are there
any balls in your garage?” “Yes, there are” “Do you like soccer?” “Yes, I do”. No points if
one of the answers is “No”.
