I wish If only regrets dice bluffing game

Roll a dice twice to choose the grammar and a topic below, then quickly make a personal statement combining them, using your imagination if you can’t think of anything true. Perhaps after asking for more details, your partner will guess if what you said was true or not.

Grammar

  1. I’m glad (that) + present tense
  2. I wish/ If only + Past Simple
  3. I regret + v+ing
  4. I’m glad (that) + past tense
  5. I wish/ If only + Past Perfect
  6. I regret having + past participle (PP)

Topics A

  1. career/ work
  2. free time/ hobbies/ going out
  3. family and friends/ relationships
  4. travel/ holidays
  5. home/ accommodation
  6. animals

Ask about any options you found it difficult to make sentences for, grammar you are not sure about, etc, working together to make example sentences each time.

What are the differences between the grammatical forms above?

What are the differences between these?

  • I wish/ If only
  • I wish I was…/ I wish I had been…

---------------------------------------fold, cover or cut-----------------------------------------

Do the same, but this time just rolling the dice once and using any grammar you like to express regrets or lack of regret.

Topics B

  1. arts/ media
  2. education/ qualifications
  3. appearance/ fashion
  4. adventure/ dangers
  5. money/ spending/ shopping
