ed and ing adjectives discuss and agree

Working in pairs or small groups, try to make as many sentences as you can with -ed and -ing adjectives that everyone in your group agrees with. You can only use each adjective once, but you can use both the -ed and -ing versions of the same adjective and/ or different words with the same meaning to make different sentences.

Useful language for doing the activity

“I completely agree.”      “I don’t agree. I…”                        “Really? I feel/ felt…”

  • We both/ all feel… when we…
  • We both/ all would feel… if we…
  • We both/ all have… and we found it…
  • We both/ all agree that… is the most… (in this city/ in this country/ in the world).
  • We both/ all imagine that… would be…
  • We both/ all felt… the last time that we…
  • We both/ all felt… the first time that we…
  • We both/ all think that the sound/ taste/ smell/ feeling/ texture/ appearance of… is….
  • We both/ all think that… is more… than…
  • We both/ all think that… is …er than…
