Personality Opposites- Miming Games
A LESSON PLAN FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS
Character words TPR practice through doing actions to represent pairs of antonyms, also with personality synonyms and students testing each other on the language in other ways.

Personality opposites miming games
Choose one pair of opposites on the next page below and mime both sides of the table until your partner guesses at least two words there. If they can’t guess, let them look at the list below.
Ask about any which you can’t understand, couldn’t mime, can’t pronounce, etc.
Do the same, but this time only letting your partner look at one side of the table.
Do the same, but with the person who is miming only being able to see one side of the table.
Read out an adjective below and see who can most quickly mime that and its opposite while they say both words.
Test each other orally on the words below:
- Choose a line that has at least three options, say all but one option, and help your partner say the missing one
- Say one side of the table and help your partner make at least one opposite for each
