Again, nearly 50% think that "He said he wasn't coming" is incorrect. Doh! The correct answer is Either.

First of all, it's a grammar rule. Secondly, the thing was said already. Whether the 'coming' really happened or not is not necessary.

Now I doubt it. Because I have heard English or American people say: She said she was coming tomorrow. (This means 'was coming depends on the verb 'said' not on the time 'tomorrow', which is going to come.
